Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival held each year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to early October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and the world's largest fair, with some six million people attending every year. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations, modeled after the Munich event. This year Oktoberfest is celebrated from September 20th to October 5th. The name Oktoberfest has nothing to do with month of October.
Wolfie and the Bavarians is a talented German band that enjoys the lighter, more comical side of Oktoberfest. The band was founded 8 years ago by Rob "Wolfie" Walker. He lived, studied, and worked in Germany and has experienced the Oktoberfest first hand. He played in the German show at "Das Festhaus" at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, VA for 2 years playing 38 shows per week. Wolfie can speak German well enough to find his way to the WC or order another Bier!
Wolfie Walker is supported by a great band including Chuck "Wolfie" Smith on Accordian, Ron "Wolfie" Tarro on Clarinet, and Damien "Wolfie" Bard on Drums. The band plays many traditional Oktoberfest selections with a smattering of humorous vocal selections. Wolfie and The Bavarians are a fun, very relaxed band that enjoys a good laugh even more than a Brat and a Stein of Bier!
Vielen Dank! Another successful Oktoberfest season is in the books for Wolfie and the Bavarians. Wolfie wanted to personally thank you for an amazing year. We enjoyed the fun we had and the zany antics that were a part of our time together. Wolfie was thrilled to have been joined by our new clarinetist, Helga, this year. She added quite a spark to the band. Danke Helga! Wolfie is readying for a trip back to Bavaria to drink lots of beer and sing German songs. Wolfie is ready for 2013 Oktoberfest season. If you are planning an event, book early, book often!
